OLD MAN SKETCH

The first assignment in our interpretive illustration class involved taking a singular photo and trying to sketch it out using multiple different techniques. The original photo used is this photo of an old man.

We then proceeded to draw him using Photoshop, the first example is a drawing using only curved lines.
The next example is one done in our own style just completing the line work.

This example used timed lines where we had to use a continuous stroke for a set amount of time.

This one was taking the photo and flipping it upside down.

This is another example of using time strokes.

Finally we were only allowed to use straight and angular lines.

By taking one photo and exploring different means of using lines we are getting a feel for different expressions and how they translate into one image.
